The test is completed online and contains 100 questions covering five important areas of English. Your score and recommended level will appear immediately after you submit the test.

The placement test helps ILC understand your current English ability so that you can begin at a level that is appropriately challenging—not too easy and not too difficult.
The test is not an entrance examination, and there is no pass or fail. It is simply used to recommend the most suitable starting point for your General English studies.

The writing and speaking sections are objective assessments designed to evaluate your understanding of written and spoken English. ILC may request an additional writing sample or speaking assessment when necessary.

You should complete the entire test in one sitting whenever possible.
Please do not use dictionaries, translation applications, AI tools, textbooks, websites, or help from another person. Outside assistance may produce an inaccurate result and place you in the wrong class.
